Hourou Musuko update

This show continues to appeal to me despite some misgivings I have about the characters being too young. The latest ep (ep. 7, I believe) is something of a time slip episode, and it was my favorite so far. I think about 6 months passes. What strikes me the most about it is the fact that it addresses head-on issues of maturing (puberty) and sexual preference without ever being exploitative: a refreshing change of pace. And I have gotten to know and sympathize with several of the characters.

An interesting aside: each episode has a title in Japanese and a title in English, and they are not the same.

I think the show must be done on a very low budget because the OS and ES animation is just pathetic, and the show itself is very limited in movement. But I enjoy the pastel look it has.

Thanks for the update. It seems to be a pretty popular show among some people. That watercolor artwork makes me wonder if it was done by the studios that have used that technique on other shows.

Freezing 9 (okay/decent - 5.47):
This was a much better episode than the previous one. I didn't like how they changed the ending, but they probably did that because they don't intend on having a second season of this. In that respect they might end up having a decent fight here. But I'm pretty sure they're going to censor what happened in the manga. There was a lot of violence in the manga in terms of what happened and I don't think they're going to want that tone in the anime also. Considering what they've already changed compared to the manga, I don't think they're going to show it.

Once again the Freezing manga will come off better than the anime. Oh well. I've already dialed down my expectations of this show.
