Welcome back, Rob!

The thing that made Genshiken work for me was the relationship between the otaku buchou and the girlfriend of the pretty boy.  (Also, to a lesser extent, the younger boy and one of the other girls.) That is, the buchou had the hots for the girlfriend, and the girlfriend had no clue. (There is a whole episode devoted to just the two of them sitting alone in the club room doing nothing. Yet it is absolutely hilariously brilliant for the torture it causes him.) I didn't really care that much about the club activities, other than the members trying to convince the girls to cosplay.

In the episodes of Bakuman I watched, it seemed like it was all about the making of the manga, which didn't interest me that much. Are there other dimensions of interest other than that? (BTW: the 2 or 3 eps of Bakuman I watched reminded me more of Comic Party.)
