Japanese sites are a mistery to me. They don't apear on my search resulsts and even if they did I wouldn't understand them. Japanese people don't usually come out of their Japanese sites also.

I was impressed how few Japanese users were registered on the whole MyAnimeList site, it's was based on somebody's search, not mine, but it looked pretty close to reality. Don't remember the exact number but I don't think the results reached 20 members.
It's hardly surprising Japanese people stay in the Japanese web. It's a pretty stiff barrier. I can read Japanese passingly well, but Japanese websites still leave me bewildered. They have a totally different concept of how to communicate: sensory overload.

You can get Japanese results to turn up in your searches if you search with Japanese characters. Maison Ikkoku is めぞん一刻. I found several forums about MI in Japanese by searching "Maison Ikkoku Bulletin Boards: めぞん一刻掲示板. None of the ones I looked at had posts much less than a year old.

But the most interesting thing I found deserves its own thread, so please look on the main page for it.
