Ore no Imouto #5

This took one of a just a few possible directions I thought it might based on the ending of ep. 4. I studiously avoided learning anything about it until after I had seen it, so I don't know what you were referring to in your earlier post. I rather liked the direction it took, and this show has become the one I look forward to most each week, followed closely by Kuragehime.

I am watching it raw, but I surprised myself by understanding the first scene of this ep. almost word-for-word. Ayase is indeed in the modeling business with Kirino. She happened to be there at the station because she was on break from a magazine photo shoot. I think Ayase and Kirino are also friends at school. What I had a hard time with was one of the later exchanges with Ayase:

Kuragehime #1, #2

I enjoyed ep. 1, but it was in ep. 2 that I really started to enjoy the humor in this show. Kuranosuke (in his alter-ego appearance) looks so much like he should be in Paradise Kiss that I sometimes do a double take. But I don't think this show has much in common with that one otherwise. Beyond the opening credits, I haven't noticed a lot of references to live-action movies (really, not any). I am just thick? The weird thing is that I recognize nearly every one of the references in the credits, and they are all American and decades old. Strange.

Another weird thing is that Tsukimi started out looking like nothing to me. Like a person I'd walk by in the street and not even notice. But as her story progresses and we get to know her, she seems somehow cuter. Weird how that happens.

And of course, on this list we have to appreciate the dormitory style of the building. It reminds me so much of Ikkokukan, although much bigger of course.

If it isn't obvious from the subs, "Kuragehime" means "Jellyfish Princess".
